Re: Star Wars Battlefront Trailer

The horrifying quotes in this IGN article makes me wonder if the head of DICE managed to take the time out of his busy schedule to watch even one of the movies before appearing on stage at the world's biggest Star Wars convention. Surely he must have had a couple hours to kill. "Space is hard, ...

Bet they'd regret kicking a hornet's nest.

Re: Concept Art Sale (not actual sale)

I'm beginning to suspect the next thing CIG has already thought of is "box guns," hidden q-ship turrets that resemble cargo containers when inactive and can be loaded in an external cargo slot.

Re: Concept Art Sale (not actual sale)

Elf, that bit about "event ships" got me thinking, and my thoughts ended up as a thread on the game ideas forum: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/255491/flotilla-mechanics-for-squadron-ships-an-alternative-to-the-bengal We've got a lot of ships. We could make a pretty i...

Re: Concept Art Sale (not actual sale)

Well Elf, you saw what they said. A Hull E can purportedly haul enough freight to make back its own worth in a single run. And since these ships are said to be priced relative to their in-universe value. . . You can do the math. In theory, a few regular escorted, lucrative runs with this could keep ...

Re: Concept Art Sale (not actual sale)

Well, I like it, but I'm clearly not in a position to buy new things. It's something to put on my cross-chassis wishlist way down the road.

Re: Concept Art Sale (not actual sale)

I'm convinced Elfwyn is the real Batman. We don't deserve him, but he's here to be our hero anyway. And he clearly owns his own private megacorporation.

Re: Concept Art Sale (not actual sale)

I expect it to be just shy of Freelancer-size (which would make it only the second ship in its weight class). Basically, if the Tali is a B-29 Superfortress, this is a P-61 Black Widow, an all-weather long range night fighter: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2c/Northrop_P-61_gr...

Re: Trying to pick a fighter

If I were still lucky enough to be at the point I was choosing just one ship to start out with in the 'verse (instead of deciding what to do with a personal fleet now that I've got it), I'd go with the Avenger. It's got punch, speed, and the raw practical utility to be everything you could want in a...

Re: Trying to pick a fighter

I've also picked up the Gladius CCU with the last of my store credit. Light fighters have always explicitly been my favoured combat option in games, so I'm pretty sure I'll be passing over the Hornet for it most of the time. Or rather, to put it in the words of the best dude ever: "Your generic...
